Thelandofpapua.com – In an effort to enhance human resources in Papua Tengah, Governor Meki Nawipa has announced plans to implement a free education program across the province.
The governor made this statement while leading his first official assembly with all civil servants of the Papua Tengah Provincial Government at the old airport on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Nabire, on Friday, March 7, 2025.
The initiative has received widespread support from various stakeholders, including the Chairman of the NasDem Party faction in the Papua Tengah Regional House of Representatives (DPR), Anies Labene. He believes the program is highly beneficial for the region.
“For that reason, I strongly support this initiative,” Anies told Tribun-Papua.com in Nabire on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
He further urged the Papua Tengah Provincial Education Office to develop technical guidelines to ensure the program’s successful implementation.
“With proper technical guidelines, this program can be well-executed and achieve success,” he added.
Anies reaffirmed NasDem’s commitment to supporting the initiative, emphasizing the importance of its successful execution for the benefit of the community.
“Once again, as a principle, we, the NasDem faction in the Papua Tengah DPR, fully support this program. Free education must be implemented properly and successfully,” he stated.
He also encouraged the people of Papua Tengah, particularly the younger generation, to take full advantage of the opportunity.
“To the youth, let’s work together to make this program a success for the betterment of Papua Tengah’s future,” he concluded.
