Strong collaboration between local communities, the regional government, and TNI-Polri is reinforcing social resilience and ensuring the well-being of residents in Sori Village, South Aifat District, Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua, Indonesia.
Following the recent incident, local residents have continued their daily activities while maintaining mutual support and community cohesion. The Maybrat Regency Government, together with security forces, has taken steps to strengthen the sense of safety and ensure that basic needs are met.
Maybrat Regent Karel Murafer emphasized that security and development are shared responsibilities between the government and the community. He encouraged residents to maintain unity and support efforts to keep the area stable.
“When the situation remains safe, community activities and development can continue effectively,” he stated.
As part of these efforts, the local government distributed food assistance, including rice and drinking water, to residents of Sori Village. The support aims to ensure that community needs are met without requiring residents to leave their village.
At the same time, TNI-Polri, together with local authorities, continue to coordinate with community leaders, religious figures, and district officials to maintain stability and strengthen communication at the local level.
Maybrat Police Chief, Commissioner Ruben Obed Kbarek, highlighted the importance of community participation in maintaining security. He encouraged residents to continue supporting one another and contributing to a safe and conducive environment.
