The Papua Provincial Government continues to strengthen efforts to expand equal access to education across all regions, including coastal, mountainous, and remote areas, as part of its commitment to improving human resource development.
Governor of Papua, Matius D. Fakhiri, stated that in terms of curriculum, education in Papua is aligned with other regions in Indonesia. Current efforts are focused on improving access and supporting facilities, particularly infrastructure and internet connectivity.
In the momentum of National Education Day, the government emphasized the importance of ensuring that every child in Papua receives equal educational opportunities, regardless of geographical challenges.
Various initiatives are being implemented, including expanding internet access to remote areas to support learning activities. In addition, human resource development is being strengthened through integrated efforts in both education and health sectors.
The government is also encouraging cross-sector collaboration involving village administrations, district and city governments, as well as religious institutions to support education development in Papua.
Attention to educators remains a priority, including both honorary and civil servant teachers, to ensure the sustainability and quality of education services.
Through strong collaboration among all stakeholders, efforts to improve education in Papua continue to progress, contributing to the development of future generations and supporting long-term national goals.
